An Opening Retreat in the Wilderness

November 11-13, 2026

*Friday Evening through Sunday Morning

Designed as a full-weekend escape to the mountains, our opening retreat gives students time to step away from their normal routines. Heading out to the mountains gives everyone a chance to unplug, get to know each other, and set a good foundation for the rest of the program.

Community Building in Little Tokyo

February 11-13, 2026

*Friday Evening through Saturday Evening

Our second gathering focuses on the importance of place in shaping our community’s present and future. Students will explore Little Tokyo, meet local leaders, and visit key community institutions to understand how these spaces are sustained, and discover their own role in preserving the places where our community gathers.

A Journey to Manzanar

May 11-13, 2026

*Friday Evening through Saturday Evening

*Group will first gather at a local location, then travel by bus to Manzanar.

Community history is essential to understanding where we are today and where this generation fits in the larger story. Visiting Manzanar gives students a chance to learn about a pivotal moment in our history, reflect on the legacy of those who came before them, and see firsthand why preserving these historical lessons matters.

Closing It Out On Campus

August 11-13, 2026

*Friday Evening through Sunday Morning

In our final session, we take time to reflect on the growth, lessons, and experiences of the past year. Students celebrate everything they’ve accomplished together, savor their final moments as a cohort, and begin looking ahead to what comes next while honoring the close-knit community they’ve built.
